GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. — Gadsden County is looking and working towards the future.
Last week we told you the county's first female county administrator was terminated from her position without cause.
The Gadsden County Board of Commissioners voted three-to-two to terminate Dee Jackson's contract. Now, commissioners are holding a special meeting Tuesday night regarding the new interim county administrator.
Last week we reported that commissioners voted to hire Arthur Lawson Sr. as the interim county administrator and commissioners are going to make it official Tuesday.
The board will be meeting in the next half hour to agree on the terms Lawson will be acting on as interim county administrator. That will include salary and benefits but also the expectations he will have.
Commissioner Sherrie Taylor says the board will still be looking for a full time replacement, and its time to look towards the future.
"Whomever comes in needs to be able to pick up the gauntlet and continue to run this race," said Taylor. "It's a very difficult task, I won't say that it is not. It is. But I know that there is someone that will come in and continue the prosperity and look into higher hills."
Gadsden County is now actively looking for a permanent county administrator.
