TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Dance Marathon presented Florida State University's College of Medicine with a check for $1 million.

The money was raised during last year's Dance Marathon, where students aim to fundraise the most money over 40 hours by dancing non-stop.

Wednesday's check is going to help fund community programs to help children get the help they need. One example, a mobile medical unit for the Big Bend region.

Dance Marathon leaders say it feels great to give back.

"I am really excited to lead us in our 25th year and to make an impact on not only our school as a whole and the students, but the Tallahassee community because it's a community I have lived in for three years and I felt that need to give back and make an impact," said Taylor Williams, 2020 Dance Marathon Executive Director.

FSU's 2020 Dance Marathon will be held in March, but they are already accepting donations.
