TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — On Monday, the Florida State University baseball team returned to Dick Howser Stadium, fresh off of their win over LSU and advancing them to the College World Series.
Some Seminole fans made it out just in time to personally congratulate the team.
The crowd of fans wasn't that big by the time the team got off the bus at Dick Howser Stadium. That's because the team ended up getting in about 30 minutes ahead of schedule.
Despite missing the team's arrival, those fans still expressed their pride and excitement for the big accomplishment. A lucky few made it out to the stadium in time to catch the players.
One of the younger fans says that she wanted to make sure she didn't miss the opportunity to congratulate the team.
"Ever since my mom was pregnant with me, I was still at the baseball games," said one FSU fan. "I've been here for my entire life and I've been watching the team and Martin grow for 11 years, even though as a baby, I didn't know what that meant."
The last time the Seminoles won the Super Regionals to make it to the College World Series was 2017. But this is the last time the team will be going with Head Coach Mike Martin.
