FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Franklin County Sheriff “AJ” Tony Smith has announced that he will be running for a second term in the upcoming 2020 election.
Sheriff Smith is a Franklin County native who has held numerous leadership positions in both local as well as state organizations.
Smith took over the office for a four year term in 2017 after the retirement of former Sheriff Mike Mock.
“I am very happy and excited to seek another term in office as the sheriff of Franklin County. We have accomplished a lot during this first term and have more to do for the citizens of Franklin County. I look forward to continuing our success toward making our county one of the best and safest places to live in Florida,” Sheriff AJ Tony Smith.
Smith also holds a newly elected position as President of the Florida Deputy Sheriff’s Association.
