TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Southside Tallahassee native and former Florida State football player James Coleman paired up with Second Harvest to give food to over 300 families on Saturday.

Cars started lining up at FAMU D.R.S. around noon, while all of the food was gone by 2:30 p.m.

"It makes me feel like if I can show this example, maybe people will be a little less selfish and you'll take what you got and you'll be willing to give it to the next person, so that we can all grow and advance together," said Coleman. "And really just try to make this place a better place."

Last year Coleman donated 200 backpacks to kids in Tallahassee.

He plans on doing more giveaways later this year.
