TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Florida State Men's Basketball was playing for more than just a win during their game against Wake Forest Saturday.

The Seminoles are Fighting for Literacy to make sure every child in the Big Bend has access to books.

Every $10 raised during the campaign will give kids in the Big Bend two books.

"We try to bring awareness to what that problem is 60 percent like you said of Florida students are not reading at grade level," said Carleen O'Reilly of Coaching for Literacy. "It has implications throughout their lives to get them the attention and the resources and the tutoring that they need."

The organization is in its seventh-year partnership with Florida State University, and Florida A&M University.

Rattlers can also participate in Fight for Literacy during the FAMU men's basketball game next Saturday.
