(WTXL) — Schools are announcing closures on Friday due to anticipated severe weather. A list of schools who have announced closures is below:
NORTH FLORIDA:
- Wakulla County Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Florida State University will close at 3:00 a.m. on Friday and reopen at 10:00 a.m. due to inclement weather.
- Florida A&M University will close at 3:00 a.m. on Friday and reopen at 12:00 p.m. due to inclement weather. FAMU DRS will be closed the entire day.
- Maclay School will be closed for students on Friday due to inclement weather. They plan to open at 10:00 a.m. for faculty and staff (optional). The Lacrosse District Championship is still on unless field conditions are unplayable. Game is 6:00 p.m. vs. Chiles.
- Florida High will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather. All school-related activities (i.e. practices, games, extra-curricular activities) are also canceled.
- Rose Academy will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
SOUTH GEORGIA:
- Baker County Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Berrien County Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Brooks County Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Colquitt County Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Cook County Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Decatur County Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Grady County Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Lowndes County Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Miller County Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Mitchell County Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather. Staff will report to work on Friday at regular time should conditions permit. School will resume on Monday for students, faculty and staff.
- Pelham City Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- All Southern Regional Technical College locations will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Thomas County Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Thomasville City Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Thomas University will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Valdosta City Schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather.
- Valdosta State University will have a delayed opening on Friday due to inclement weather. Faculty, staff, and students should be prepared to resume normal classes and business operations at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
