A Christmas Day fire left a resident without a home in Jefferson County. On Wednesday, Jefferson Fire Rescue had to shut down the road as they battled the fire on East Washington Street.
Fire crews contacted the Red Cross to assist the victim. The Monticello Volunteer Fire Department provided automatic aid. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and Duke Energy responded to assist.
