TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Troopers are investigating after one person was killed during an accident in Taylor County on Sunday.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. on Sarah's Lane at JJ Blue Road.
FHP says a Chevrolet Silverad was heading west on Sarah's Lane when for unknown reasons the driver drove onto the north shoulder of Sarah's Lane at its intersection with J. J. Blue Road.
The car continued in a westerly direction and crashed into the base of a large oak tree.
The driver then crashed into a metal gate, a wooden fence and several dog boxes and stumps.
Troopers say the car overturned onto it's roof and the driver was partially ejected.
The driver identified as John David Wilson, 38, of Perry was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Taylor County Sheriff's Department, Taylor County EMS/Fire and Rescue and the City of Perry Fire Department.
FHP says Wilson was not wearing a seatbelt during the accident.
Authorities are investigating to determine whether alcohol was a factor during the crash.
