FDOH reports first local case of coronavirus in Gadsden County

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — The Florida Department of Health has reported the first local case of coronavirus in Gadsden County.

In it's Thursday evening update, FDOH confirmed that a 32-year-old Gadsden County woman has tested positive for COVID-19. Health officials say the woman recently traveled to Louisiana and had direct contact with a confirmed case.

The first case of COVID-19 FDOH logged under Gadsden County was a 54-year-old man who tested positive in another state after traveling to Japan.

That man was never treated or hospitalized in the county.

So far, 52 people have been tested for COVID-19 in Gadsden County.
