TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Demand continues to grow at FAMU's COVID-19 testing site at Bragg Stadium.

Since opening in late April, the site has taken more than 25,000 tests. There are 500 tests available by either appointment or walk-up daily.

With so many people wanting to get a test, the site now allows about 30 to 40 appointments per day, leaving the rest for walk-ups.

FAMU Health Services Coordinator Tanya Tatum says they have also noticed a shift in who is coming in to get tested.

"We're actually seeing a lot more individuals coming for work," said Tatum. "They're having to be tested before they get their job, before they return to their job, or there's been exposure at work, or they have tested positive before and they need another test to go back to work."

Bragg Stadium usually reaches 500 tests around 11 a.m. or 12 p.m.

They say it's best to come early if you're walking up or try to schedule ahead.
