TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — FAMU DRS teachers have transitioned to online learning, but they're still trying to create the best learning experience for kids as possible.
They also are giving away free meals to students.
“We can’t learn when were hungry,” said Michael Johnson, superintendent of Florida A&M University Development Research Schools.
Staff is providing meals Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to noon. Each student will receive a lunch and breakfast.
Johnson says that it is a good feeling to be able to give back to these students and parents.
"It’s really good because students are happy to see us and were happy to see them," Johnson said. "This is really good to give parents some sort of relief in a trying time.”
They will be setup in the half-circle off Orange Ave at FAMU DRS.
