SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Suwannee Health and Rehabilitation Center is now being called a hotspot for COVID-19 activity.
ABC27 has been following since cases in Suwannee County started to pop up. To date, 19 cases have been linked here and the majority of those cases are employees.
Suwannee Health and Rehabilitation Center is still up and running, despite more than 10 employees being out due to the Coronavirus.
SHRC said they now have isolation wings, but because no known positive cases are currently in the building, it hasn't been used yet.
They also say they have restricted visitors and is checking the temperature of every person entering the building.
Some workers say they don't feel protected. One worker said many things, like PPE's and masks, were distributed too late.
SHRC says there is an adequate supply of masks and personal protective equipment and they will continue to get ongoing shipments.
While we believe this facility has been ahead of our peers in preparation, this disease does not follow any specific game plan.
The significant other for one employee says the workers aren't hearing much from management, and both the employees and their families are on edge.
The Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration did visit the center for an inspection on Saturday.
We're still waiting on the inspection report.
