CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. (WTXL) — An employee at St. Marks Powder Inc. in Crawfordville has tested positive for coronavirus, according to the parent company.

General Dynamics Ordinance and Task Systems, the parent company of St. Marks Powder Inc., confirmed to ABC 27 that an employee at their Crawfordville facility has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Florida Department of Health has not confirmed any cases of coronavirus in the county as of Friday since the employee who tested positive is not a resident of the county.

The company said they were made aware of the employee's positive test on Thursday.

They say the individual returned to work from International travel on March 11. At the time, the person was asymptomatic.

Out of an abundance of caution, the employee was asked by company leadership to self-quarantine on March 15. Test results returned a positive result on Thursday.

Thankfully, the company says the employee is doing well and is feeling "much better."

The company said all employees have been notified about the confirmed case.

The employees that came into contact with this person have all been sent to Florida Department of Health to be evaluated. Those employees will remain in self-isolation until March 29.

The company has instituted "extensive cleaning processes" and have implemented strict shift change procedures as well as established social-distancing rules.

St. Marks Powder Inc. manufactures commercial smokeless powder.

ABC 27 has also obtained a copy of the letter that was sent to employees:
