Deputies: Thomas County man accused of killing 2-year-old girl on New Year's Eve

THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) — The Thomas County Sheriff's office has arrested a man for the murder of a 2-year-old girl on New Year's Eve.

Wednesday, the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Kimaon Collins for the murder.

The sheriff's office said that the Boston Police Department EMS responded to a call about an unresponsive 2-year-old girl on New Year's Eve.

The child was then taken to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

An autopsy was performed Saturday by the GBI Crime Lab and the death was found to be caused by multiple injuries to the child.

Collins was interviewed by investigators as a suspect and eventually admitted to causing the injuries to the child.

As a result, Collins was arrested and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and cruelty to children in the 1st degree.
