Deputies: Bear broke into 95-year-old woman's home in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla.(WTXL) — The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says a bear broke inside of a 95-year-old woman’s home on Friday morning.

According to Sheriff A.J. Smith, deputies responded to a Franklin County home around 5 a.m. Friday morning after receiving reports about a bear entering the residence.

After responding to the scene, a FCSO deputy shot and killed the bear.

Sheriff Smith says this is not the first report they had received about this bear.

Prior to this incident, they have had several reports in regards the bear intruding in Franklin County.

Smith also said the county has had a problem with multiple bears roaming through communities in the past.

Fortunately, no one was hurt during the incident.
