TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Tuesday night, the President will give his annual State of the Union address.

District Five Congressman Al Lawson will be there.

Lawson says health care, immigration, student loan debt and creating more unity in the country are big ideas he'll be listening for.

One thing Lawson hopes doesn't come up is President Trump's impeachment trial. Instead, he's hoping the focus is on the American people.

"I'm optimistic that some of these things might come forward rather than what has happened in the past," said Lawson. "In light of the fact that there has been so much going on in the last week about impeachment, to try to put all of that behind us and try to move forward to give the American people a lot of confidence."

You can watch the State of the Union at 9 p.m. right on ABC 27.
