TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Lots of questions on the future of the police headquarters. Tallahassee commissioners plan to discuss both topics at Wednesday's commission meeting.
They're evaluating 10 site options for the new police headquarters. Some of those options include the Northwood Centre and the Tallahassee Mall.
For the past few months, city leaders say they want to remain as transparent as possible when it comes to relocating the department.
"My preference would still be a site on the southside of town and there are two or three that we are looking at in that general area, but whatever is going to be best for the City of Tallahassee and how we will be able to best serve our citizen from a law enforcement perspective," said Curtis Richardson, Tallahassee Mayor Pro Tem.
Richardson says city staff will do more research on the 10 sites to break them down into the best 4 to 5 sites and then city commissioners will vote on the final site within the next few months.
