TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — In light of the recent statewide spike in coronavirus cases and area restaurants facing new, confirmed cases from employees, Backwoods Crossing and Backwoods Bistro is taking a proactive stance.

No one at either location has tested positive or experienced symptoms of the virus, but they announced in a social media post that both restaurants will close Monday through Wednesday, June 22 to 24 to have all staff tested for COVID-19.

"Our staff has been vigilant about where they go and adhering to the CDC guidelines here at the restaurant and in their personal outings. NONE of our staff are unwell or have tested positive, but for our Backwoods family’s sake and the peace of mind of our guests we want to be proactive. We feel that it is better to get out in front of the positive cases announced in the hospitality industry over the last two weeks."

They said they plan to reopen both establishments on Thursday, June 25, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
