Assistant Principal at Apalachee Elementary School transferred after Facebook post draws complaints

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — An assistant principal at Apalachee Elementary School has been reassigned to a Killearn Lakes Elementary after being scolded for a Facebook post that drew numerous complaints.

The district assigned Nikki Bradley to Killearn Lakes Elementary after the superintendent received calls and messages concerning a social media post she made last week.

In screenshot of her Facebook page shared with ABC 27, the post read:

For a while now I have felt like the Ringmaster of the ****show. Today has done me in! I do not want to be the ringmaster, someone come get the monkeys and all the circus friends.

According to data from the Florida Department of Education, the student population at Apalachee Elementary is a predominately African-American.

A spokesperson for Leon County Schools confirmed to ABC 27 that,"Following conversations between Mrs. Bradley and district staff, the superintendent transferred her to another elementary school in the district.”

There's no word on if she received any other disciplinary actions from the post.
