TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Kenny Maguire is about 10 days in on this new mural on the side of Breezeway Markets in the Railroad Square Arts District.

Maguire says he made Alice an African-American woman modeled after a personal friend of his.

He also says it's not about skin color, it's about the bigger picture; that we're all equal.

"The type of her skin doesn't really matter," said Maquire. "It's still the same thing. There's no doubt that when you look at this it's Alice in Wonderland it occurs to you after that. It's a black woman. It doesn't occur to you because it doesn't really matter."

The mural isn't finished just yet. Maguire says he's still got about two weeks left to put the finishing touches on it.
