TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A new Tallahassee business has officially opened its doors and it's basing its model on American traditions.
American Truck Depot is selling all types of trucks and vans to other businesses looking for a way to transport their goods.
And everything on the lot is American made.
American Truck Depot buys and sells commercial and consumer trucks from local vendors.
They then sell them to other local businesses with the mission to empower working Americans by supplying trucks built for hard work.
They're also using other local business for things such as repair work, paint jobs, and body work.
Co-owner Derek Hart says that as a business man, he saw the need for this one of a kind service.
"The one thing that i noticed as a small business owner when it was time to buy vehicles for my business is we had to go as far as Orlando, Miami, Orlando, Birmingham to gather vehicles that we needed. i knew that Tallahassee was lacking that resource. we try to be diverse. we have everything from flower delivery vans to semi trucks that pull logs and everything in between," said Derek Hart, American Truck Depot Co-Owner.
To celebrate Saturday's grand opening, the team even raffled off a Toyota Prius for free.
They said it's their way of showing that this actually isn't the place to find a Prius.
Another thing that sets the new business apart is that some of the money from every sale made will go to charity.
