TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — ABC 27's own Sunrise anchor, Brian Jackson, was honored at the 1st Annual AAIM Awards: A Salute to African Americans in Media.

Presented by Hallelujah 95.3FM, the Capital Outlook Newspaper and The Pavilion, the AAIM Awards are designed to pay homage to the past, honor the present and salute the future.

The inaugural group of honorees included Brian Jackson, Shonda Knight, Joe Bullard and others who's work has inspired people in the Capital City.

Brian was awarded the Future Leader in Media Award.

"It is truly an honor to be presented with this award, I mean it feels like I just got here a couple months ago, to already receive an honor of this type of stature is really just truly a blessing. We've been doing some really great things here at ABC 27 and I can't wait to see what we all have in store for the future," said Brian Jackson, ABC 27 Sunrise Anchor.
