1 hurt after officer-involved shooting in Franklin County

APALACHICOLA, Fla. (WTXL) — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating after an office-involved shooting in Apalachicola sent one person to the hospital.

Saturday morning around 2:30 p.m., the Franklin County Sheriff's office said an officer with the Apalachicola Police Department was involved in an on duty shooting on Apalachicola River Bridge.

The suspect was transported to a hospital in Panama City with non life threatening injuries. The officer sustained no injuries in the incident.

The case is being investigated by FCSO, the State Attorney’s Office and FDLE.

At this time, no other details are being released about the shooting.
