TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Sheriff's Office unveiled a new real-time crime center on Wednesday, that will make an impact on all residents throughout the county.

LCSO said the RTCC will transform how they combat crime, with live monitoring of approved cameras.

For instance, if residents have a ring doorbell camera, if allowed LCSO will be able to have access to your camera as well.

With the new technology authorities will be able to identify crime trends and hotspots, and better assess crime scenes.

"That's why we call it real time because it actually  enable us through technology to assist our deputies as they respond to a case or to a call and take appropriate action and basically we believe its going to drive crime down in our community and make us much more effective in our crime fighting efforts," said Sheriff Walt McNeil.

Current partnerships include Leon County Schools, Leon County Detention Facility, Leon County Courthouse, FSU, and the City of Tallahassee.
