LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - On Thursday, a judge denied a request for two witnesses to be questioned in the case of Kendrick Johnson, who was found dead inside a gym mat at Lowndes High School five years ago.
A judge denied the 2016 request for the former county coroner and the transporter to be questioned, saying too much time had gone by.
This comes after the defense claims Johnson's internal organs and items belonging to him were lost as he was transported from the state crime lab to the funeral home in Valdosta.
This is the second blow to the family in the case this year.
Just last month, a judge denied their appeal against paying a $300,000 in legal fees, an amount they are now required to pay.
