TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County Commissioner John Dailey will announce he's running for Tallahassee mayor this week, according to sources close to the commissioner.
Dailey fills a seat in the mayor's race left by City Commissioner Gil Ziffer's exit from the race and state Sen. Bill Montford's recent decision not to run for mayor.
Dailey filed to run for a fourth term to the District 3 seat in February.
Already in the race to become mayor are Erik David, a veteran who calls himself a "social democrat," and Joe West, a Vietnam veteran.
Mayor Andrew Gillum, in his first term as mayor, is campaigning to become the next Florida governor.
