John Dailey, other newly elected officials prepare to be sworn in

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee is about to have a new mayor.

Mayor-elect John Dailey will be sworn into office on Nov. 19. That's when the city will have a re-organizational meeting.

The current city commissioners and the newly elected ones will both be there and the new elected officials will be sworn into office and get right down to work.

"It's a process we follow every two years and it's very straightforward from our standpoint," said Jim Cooke, Tallahassee City Treasure-Clerk. "There's a certain time and that certain time is the scheduled meeting and we'll have communicated to the outgoing and the incoming commissioners and mayors involved."

Meanwhile, current Mayor Andrew Gillum will remain in his position until that meeting.
