MARIANNA, Fla. (WTXL) - An 82-year-old inmate is dead after being ambushed by his cellmate Monday morning.
The Marianna Police Department says Arthur Williams, 82, of Ontario, Canada was killed by his cellmate, 21-year-old Frederick Patterson III.
MPD was called to the Jackson County Correctional Facility around 2:02 a.m. on Monday about a homicide.
Upon their arrival, the correction’s staff told them they discovered Patterson had attacked Williams, who died of his injuries.
Investigators later determined Patterson killed Williams in an ambush-style attack.
