TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) is investigating the death of an inmate, found dead in his Leon County Jail cell earlier this afternoon.

Correctional Officers say just after 3:00 p.m. on November 19, 2014, they found Rudolph C. Ferguson, 42, unresponsive. According to LCSO spokesperson Lt. James McQuaig, once found, Correctional Officers immediately attempted to render aid and notified on-site medical personnel who confirmed the death.

LCSO says Ferguson was in a cell by himself and had not had contact with any other inmates or Correctional Officers. They also do not suspect foul play. An autopsy is scheduled for November 20.

According to McQuaig, Ferguson had just been arrested the day before (on November 18, 2014) on outstanding warrants and booked into the jail on charges including 2 counts of aggravated battery on a pregnant victim, 4 counts of sexual assault and 2 counts of kidnapping.

The investigation continues. Check back with www.wtxl.tv for updates.
