TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee community is suffering a major loss this weekend after one of its most influential athletic figures passed away from a form of brain cancer.
The university announced Sunday that Florida State Hall of Fame member Monk Bonasorte ended his battle with brain cancer. The former Florida State All-America football player shared his cancer diagnosis publicly in October of last year. He had been senior associate director of athletics for eight years.
