(WTXL) - For many, being able to relax this holiday season is going to be tough because of Hurricane Michael.
The October storm destroyed many homes in the Big Bend, and this Wednesday morning WTXL ABC 27's Jada Williams shared with us how some groups are working to bring comfort to those families
Families will be able to come out and receive clothes and brand new Ikea furniture Wednesday.
The Relief Drive is sponsored by National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives and the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office.
Through donations from two other groups, the team was able to fill five trailers with thousands of pieces of pieces of furniture and new clothes.
While the drive is in Gadsden County, people from any affected area can come by to pick up the items.
If you have a FEMA number, you can bring it with you, but this is also available for those who have not yet contacted FEMA.
Organizers say they felt drawn to do this because they're sworn to protect the community and that includes helping the community rebuild following tragic events.
The Relief Drive begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gretna Elementary School and goes until 4 p.m.
The team recommends bringing a truck with you to carefully take the boxes to your home.
