On Monday, 12 counties of officials, homeowners, experts, corporations and others came together at the Rivertown Community Church to provide and share information about Hurricane Michael recovery. The goal, to connect all of the groups together.
There was information and opportunities for homeowners like how to apply for debris pick up, how to speed up debris collection or learn how to put on a more resilient roof and save money on insurance.
Organizers say they hope the event is a step toward helping people get their lives back to normal after the storm.
"My greatest hope for today and the reason why I organized this with my partners is because we want people empowered with information that moves them through recovery and helps them return to normal," said Leslie Chapman Henderson, President/CEO of Federal Alliance for Safe Homes.
Chapman Henderson said June 1 is the beginning of another hurricane season, so there is no time to waste.
She said we need to help people recover strong and bounce back so they are ready for the next one.
