TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Gwen Graham visited the state capital Tuesday to announce her opposition to the proposed replacement for the Affordable Care Act.

She was joined by several people with pre-existing health conditions and a medical doctor with a number of patients on medicaid.

Graham delivered thousands of petitions to republican U.S. Senator Marco Rubio's Tallahassee office, asking Florida's GOP Senator to oppose the healthcare legislation currently being crafted in Washington, D.C.

Graham's appeal was political as she is running for office in 2018, but also personal, as her husband is currently in remission from stage four prostate cancer.

Graham went on to say that cuts to medicaid are particularly devastating to seniors in Florida.

"This bill is heartless. It's heartless to the people of this country. We need to make sure that our representative in the Senate, Marco Rubio, understands that the people of Florida are going to hold him accountable. He needs to vote against this bill," says Graham.
