ATLANTA (AP) - State and national officials are scheduled to visit three metro Atlanta schools to cut ribbons at new fitness centers.

The National Foundation for Governors' Fitness Council is scheduled to officially open fitness centers at Berkmar Middle School in Lilburn and C.L. Gideons Elementary and Harper Archer Elementary school in Atlanta this week.

Organizers say the campuses were chosen as national champion schools this year for their work toward promoting physical fitness.

Bill Bradley, the foundation's spokesman, says the organization is working to provide schools across the country with the resources they need to build a nation of physically fit children.
