VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL)--Georgia's lieutenant governor will deliver the commencement address for Valwood School's 46th commencement address on Friday.

"I am honored for the opportunity to speak at Valwood School's graduation ceremony," said Lt. Governor Casey Cagle. "This is an exciting time for Valwood's graduating students, and I'm excited to be able to share this celebration with them. "

"It is a tremendous privilege to have Lt. Gov. Cagle accept our invitation to speak at graduation," said Valwood headmaster Dr. Darren Pascavage. "His remarks will be of interest to citizens all over the state of Georgia, and his presence will add a special measure of distinction to what is already a dignified and important milestone in the lives of our graduating seniors."

Lt. Gov. Cagle became the first republican elected to Georgia's second highest office in 2006. He started the Georgia College and Career Academy Network, aimed at helping students get prepared for the future.

He also leads Healthy Kids Georgia, a program with a mission to fight child obesity and reduce healthcare costs.

Graduation begins at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22 at the Rainwater Conference Center.
