DECATUR COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - Hurricane Michael made landfall two weeks ago, but many are still picking up the pieces, and clear fallen and damaged trees.
Earlier Thursday, the Georgia Forestry Commission along with the Farm Service Agency hosted a meeting for forest landowners in Decatur County who are hoping to salvage and restore what's left of their land and trees.
Hundreds came out to the meeting to learn the best ways to sell their fallen trees as timber, and which trees need to be cut down because of the damage.
Those who missed the meeting are encouraged to contact their local Georgia Forestry Commission office for the resources they may need.
