GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) -- With the Gadsden County School Board likely to vote on consolidating the district in a special meeting next week, the superintendent has yet to provide the plan to the board as of Thursday afternoon.
Superintendent Roger Milton told WTXL Wednesday that he'd have a plan ready for the board to review Thursday.
In a phone interview Thursday, Milton told WTXL that the public would have to wait until Friday to see the plan, in order to give the board enough time to review it.
To recap, Milton announced Tuesday that he would bring reconfiguration back into discussion -- after dropping plans to do that two weeks ago.
Since then, the teachers' union and others have urged him to do something this year, and supporters of reconfiguration have said they're ready for change now.
But residents still don't know what exactly is being voted on. Several offered feedback during community meetings, but the superintendent has not specified what's different with the plan he's sending the board this time around.
WTXL contacted Milton, his secretary and two board members Wednesday. All confirmed the proposal had not been sent as of 6 p.m. Thursday.
WTXL will continue to follow this development in order to provide the public with the most accurate and updated information.
The vote is set for a special meeting on Tuesday, April 4 at 7 p.m.
