QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) - A WTXL reporter recently visited the Gadsden County jail to hear how inmates are being rehabilitated.

WTXL's Jada Wiliams was told by a major at the jail told that the jailers aim to remind the inmates that they are human and allow them to have moments to reflect on privileges beyond their jail cells.

Inmates told Williams they know they made mistakes but being reassured that they can bounce back is what makes the jail effective.

This Tuesday the jail invited the women behind bars to celebrate Mother's Day. Mothers and children of the inmates were invited to join, but for some, just knowing that the jail recognized the importance of motherhood while being away from family and loved ones was important

Offcials with the jail say these types of programs happen often, not just for Mothers Day.

In fact, one inamte said that the Gadsden COunty Jail is the best jail she's been in because she feels like they show her she is more than a criminal.
