ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta police are warning motorists to be on guard for a type of carjacking that occurs after vehicles are bumped in traffic.

WSB-TV reports that there have been at least three carjackings in the city's Buckhead area since Friday.

The most recent crime happened around 11 p.m. Wednesday near West Wesley and Howell Mill roads.

Mark Hutto said he and his wife were stopped at a traffic light when another car bumped him. He got out to investigate, and the other motorist pulled a gun. Hutto said the gunman's demand was simple: Give me everything you've got or I'm going to kill you.

Atlanta Police Maj. Van Hobbs said drivers in similar situations should stay inside their vehicles, lock the doors, put on the flashers, and call 911.
