TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--The horse that performed on the field for nine seasons at Doak Campbell Stadium is officially retiring. Renegade 5 is being honored at a ceremony this weekend.
Allen Durham, who oversees the tradition, tells us the 17-year-old horse lost sight in his right eye due to a medical condition in the spring.
This will be the third Renegade retirement ceremony in FSU history. Renegade 5 will be presented with a blanket adorned with sequins at halftime during this Saturday's game against Wake Forest.
Renegade 6 is now performing. There is a new Osceola this season, engineering student Brendan Carter.
