TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida State University College of Law is ranked the 48th best overall law school in the country.

Each year, the school continues to climb in rankings according to the 2017 U.S. News and World Report.

At the Law School Fair held on campus, students lined up at the FSU table to learn how to apply. 65 law schools were in attendance today to recruit law students.

The field of law is extremely competitive and each year more students are applying to law schools.

"I'm a sports management major currently, so I was trying to stay into sports law and I didn't think that too many schools offer it. But after talking to all these schools I realized that most of them do offer it, so now I have way more opportunities than I thought I had," said Sierra Brizel, Florida State student.

Across the country, law schools are filled to capacity and have a high graduation rate. The Law School Fair allows undergraduates to connect with different schools to find the perfect match.

Students who already know which type of law they hope to study, discovered universities across the country offering those programs.

Other students say they left the fair wanting to go to schools they were not even considering before today.

The goal of the fair was for students to gain a better understanding of what each law school represents and where they see themselves thriving in the future.

Undergraduates say they know the level of competitiveness within the law field, and are prepared to work hard to be in the top percentile of students who pass the bar exam.
