STARKE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida has executed the man convicted of killing two of his relatives to prevent them from testifying against him.

47-year-old Robert Hendrix was pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m. at Florida State Prison in Starke.  Hendrix died by lethal injection.

Prosecutors say in 1990, Hendrix murdered his cousin Elmer Scott in a Lake County trailer home, then killed Scott's wife, Michelle.  Scott was scheduled to testify the next day at Hendrix's burglary trial.

Scott had been an accomplice to the burglary, but reached a plea deal with prosecutors.
