BAKER COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Two Florida parents have been arrested after deputies say their 1-year-old child ingested an unknown amount of morphine pills.

The Baker County Sheriff's Office says that they responded to a home where a 1-year-old child had reportedly injected morphine pills.

They say that the mother, Chrystal Baker, had left the child with the father, Seth Baker, to go partying with Jeremy Baker, Seth's brother and Chrystal's current boyfriend.

When Chrystal returned to the home, deputies say she found Seth and the child under the influence of drugs. Seth told her that he believed the child had eaten some morphine pills.

That's when authorities were called. Deputies say Seth tried to leave the home to avoid being arrested, but was later found hiding in a camper in the back yard.

Further investigation revealed that Seth, Chrystal and Jeremy were all under the influence of drugs. They say Jeremy admitted that all three live in the same home and all heavy drug users.

After searching the home, deputies found six morphine pills, 5.8 grams of Chrystal meth, and smoking pipes that were easily accessible to the child.

The child was transported to Baker Community Hospital ER for medical along with the child's mother Chrystal.

Deputies later found out that Chrystal was wanted in Baker County for theft. However, when they went to the hospital to arrest Chrystal, she ran away from the hospital, leaving her child.

Chrystal was later found at the Red Roof Inn in Macclenny, Fla. and tried once again to run away. Deputies say they had to chase her down in the lobby of the hotel where she was arrested.

Deputies say the child is being cared for and is doing fine.
