TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Downtown Tallahassee Business Association and the Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority will host its first jazz concert in its 2013 "Saturday in the Park" concert series.
The event will be Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. EDT in Tallahassee's Ponce de Leon Park. The Bill Peterson Trio with Robin Sherman on bass and Adam Hendley on drums will be headlining the event.
Bill Peterson is an associate professor of Music in Jazz Studies and Music Theory/Composition at Florida State University, where he teaches jazz piano, jazz arranging and jazz combo. He holds the M.M. degree from the Eastman School of Music and the B.M. from the University of Cincinnati. In January 2013, Peterson released “Ruby Diamond,” a trio recording featuring Bassist Rodney Jordan and Drummer Jamison Ross, winner of the 2012 Kennedy Center International Monk Competition.
The concert series is free and open to the public. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. Good and drinks will be available from area food trucks, restaurants and businesses will be available for purchase.
