TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Below is a list of schools closing. As we hear from more school districts, this story will be updated.

  • Wakulla County School District - Closed Thursday and Friday
  • Leon County School District - Leon County Schools will be closed on Thursday an Friday.  After school & evening activities have been cancelled for Thursday. FRIDAY after school activities will move forward as of right now.

  • COAST Charter School - Closed Thursday and Friday

  • Franklin County Schools: Closed on Thursday and Friday. Athletic Changes: Varsity Football has been rescheduled against North Bay Haven at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 3, 2106.All Middle School Football and Volleyball activities have been cancelled and will resume Tuesday, September 6, 2016

  • Taylor County Schools: Closed Thursday and Friday

  • Betton Hills Preparatory School - Closed Thursday and Friday

  • Decatur County Schools: Open Thursday. Thursday evening activities are cancelled. Closed Friday.

  • Aucilla Christian Academy: Closed Thursday and Friday

  • Annsworth Academy will be closed on Thursday, 9/1 and Friday

  • Woodland Hall - Closed Thursday and Friday

  • Keiser University’s Tallahassee campus will be closed for students, administration, staff and faculty Thursday, September 1, 2016 and Friday

  • Thomas University will close at 12:30 on Thursday and is closed on Friday.

  • Florida State University main campus will close at noon today, September 1, 2016. Classes are canceled for this afternoon and Friday, and faculty and non-essential staff will be released at noon. On-campus housing and dining service operatons are continuing throughout the storm as usual. Based on the current forecast from the National Hurricane Center, tropical storm conditions are not expected to reach our area until sometime Thursday evening. The university will resume normal operations at noon Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016.

  • FAMU, FAMU DRS, and the Educational Research Center for Child Development will be closed Thursday and Friday. All classes and activities are suspended until Tuesday. All essential employees will report to work as normally scheduled. Food services will be open for breakfast for students Thursday morning, and boxed meals will be delivered to students in residence halls for the remainder of Thursday and Friday.

  • Valdosta City Schools will be closed on Friday, September 2 due to Tropical Storm Hermine.  Normal dismissal procedures Thursday afternoon, however, night classes at Horne Learning Center are cancelled.

  • Cook County Schools will be closed Friday due to inclement weather.

  • Tift County Schools will be CLOSED on Friday for students and staff.

  • Lowndes County Schools will be closed on Friday, September 2 due to Tropical Storm Hermine

  • Hamilton County Schools closed Friday. There will be no after school program.

  • John Paul II Catholic High School in Tallahassee is closed Thursday and Friday

  • Thomasville City schools closed Friday. All Thursday after school activities cancelled. 
  • Grady County Schools closed Friday. All Thursday after school activities cancelled. Dismissal for Thursday to proceed as normal. 
  • Suwanee County Schools closed Friday to include private schools.
  • The Mitchell County School System/Baconton Community Charter School will be closed on Friday. Faculty and Staff will report to work on tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. 
  • Albany State University and Darton State College campuses closing at 5 p.m. due to inclement weather. Closings include satellite locations in Cairo and Cordele. Campuses will remain closed Sept. 2.

There are also mandatory evacuations in place for some parts of Taylor and Franklin County.
