TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Farm Share will be providing food to an anticipated 500 individuals and families in Tallahassee just before the holidays.

Farm Share will have a food distribution of 36,000 pounds of fruit, vegetables, meats, canned goods, and other food products to an estimated 500 seniors, low-income families, and individuals in need on Thursday at the Leon County Sheriff's Office.

It will begin at 8:00 a.m. and is a first come first serve event while supplies last.

“We are grateful to our community, farmers and supporters that allow us to feed hungry families, children, seniors and individuals in need,” stated Stephen R. Shelley, Farm Share’s Chief Operating Officer, “We appreciate the continued partnership with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office who provide volunteers that enable us to hold such a large scale event at a time when dollars are short and children are out of school.”
