TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida A&M University's new president will be inaugurated this weekend.
It's a three-day event that kicked-off Thursday afternoon with a gathering of the FAMU industry cluster.
The event focuses on the theme "Together We Rise," which FAMU said pays homage to President Larry Robinson and his commitment to collaboration, community, and consensus building.
"It's so important we have this event because it deals with our corporate partners that we have that help support our students, our academic programming, and our research incentives," said Shawnta Friday, with FAMU University Advancement.
Dr. Robinson is FAMU's 12th president. The Board of Trustees named him as president in November 2017.
The three-day inauguration also highlights Dr. Robinson's FAMU Rising Campaign, started by Robinson and his team to raise millions to enhance student success.
