FAMU Recognized for Peace Corp Volunteerism

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-- The Peace Corps has named Florida A&M University as the 3rd most volunteer producing historically black university (HBCU) in the nation.

This is the first time FAMU has appeared on the ranking.

Since the Peace Corps establishment in 1961, 79-rattlers have gone on to volunteer.

There are 5 volunteers from FAMU currently serving.

Howard University holds the top spot, followed by Spelman college.

Since 1961, 211-alumni of HBCU's have served as Peace Corps volunteers.
