TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Florida A&M University President Elmira Mangum, alongside city and university officials, thanked the FAMU community Monday for an exciting and successful homecoming weekend.
The Rattlers won their first football game of the season Saturday against Delaware State.
Officials highlighted the success of the week leading up to the big game, including the grand opening of FAMU Way.
"What happened in Bragg (Stadium) was so inspiring to all of us, and it shows that when we have the spirit of champions on the field, champions in the classroom, anything is possible," said Mangum.
Attendance at this year's homecoming hit 22,000 -- up 4,000 from last year. Officials say revenue was up overall by 15 percent. FAMU police said there were no major incidents at homecoming this weekend.
